Suddenly cant find the PPPoE host wirelessly

hey Martian

this is regarding a very old post of yours regarding pppoe connection using airport

well mine is a tricky issue
it involves pppoe and plus it involves a static ip also wht the scene is i will describe it to u

here we have 2 facilities on a single connection..my internet is connected through a pppoe connection + on tht there is a lan server which works on a static ip

now i have a netgear router with which i am connecting my mac leopard desktop as a wired connection then i have a windows desktop which is conencted using a wireless connection and then i have my nokia E90 communicator which is connected using a wireless connection.....also i dont have a DSL modem the network cable is directly plugged into the wall

NOW COMES THE PROBLEM

my isp tells me to put the static ip on the router with the subnet mask and the gateway and then tells me to setup a pppoe connection on my mac which i did in the network preferences nad i put in my username and password and the service name whcih was required now wht is happ is tht if i use this configuration of putting the static ip on the router and then try to connect using the pppoe connection on the mac it tells me pppoe server not found .....now when i bypass the router and when i connect the ethernet cable directly from the wall to the ethernet port on the computer with the same settings tht are already seton the mac the pppoe gets connected within a second however with the router in between it doesnt

whereas now on my windows xp pc the other desktop works using the same above configuration ie:- static ip on router and pppoe set on the computer

now if i go to the router homepage and if i set my router as pppoe there my net will get connected on the mac and on my cell also but then i am not able to use the lan server

have tried a lot of settings any settings tht come in ur mind Netgear router WGR614 v9
