This happened in Leopard and then stopped when I upgraded to Snow leopard, but after about a week or two it started again. I can't click on the battery icon and choose the three options for energy savings. Such as the save energy, normal, or performance. Now I only have the option of the energy saver preferences, where I have to manually change everything. Why did it take away those options out of nowhere.
