The background- Dual booting MBP 3,1 with a 160gb hdd split in half 80gb for 10.5.8, 80gb for 10.6.4, beta tested Firefox 4b1 (not smart idea #1)

After a week of crashing flash, something very bad happened (caused by firefox) and my Mac would no longer boot, booted up on 10.5 and then checked the disk permissions on the 10.6 partition... then tried repairing my mac using diskwarrior to repair the directory on 10.6, it went without any problems, but it locked up on permissions repair.

Reset to try again (not so smart idea #2) found that the entire SL partition is gone! It no longer exists according to 10.5 or the EFI

I have most of my data backed up except for one little program (bitpim) that archived all of my biz contacts from my phone. (but it's no biggie if lost) just means typing in contacts by hand...

How can I repair the filesystem/directory structure of the now defunct SL partition? If no FS repair, how do I reclaim the space on the drive without wiping out the 10.5 partition? right now Diskutil sees only the 10.5 partition and nothing else, not free space, not unallocated space, just absolutely nothing.
