I have a Sony HDR-SR12 HD camera with hard drive. I want to archive my video, but cannot get iMovie to recognize that the camera exists. I successfully did this once before, so it is a mystery why it does not work now. I connect the camera with the USB cable, select USB connect from the camera's screen, then nothing. I look on System Profiler and the computer recognizes that the camera is connected, and I also get a disc icon appearing on my desktop. But iMovie says that I need to connect a camera. It must be something obvious that I am missing since this worked around 6 months ago. Restarting iMovie, the camera, rebooting the system, nothing works. I don't have any SD video on the camera--all files are HD video.

What am I missing???
