I had to buy a conversion cable for my iMac ( late 2009 edition ) to make use of my FireWired hard drives and FireWired CD/DVD burners that have the "old" ports ( 400 ).

They have to be daisy chained. The problem is that it seems that they all have to be turned ON because as best as i can figure out there is no pass thru of data without the first, second, etc device being turned ON.

Is there a FireWire hub available to allow me to plug the hub into the iMac and accordingly plug in my drive and burners into the hub and turn on the devices as needed ?

Help/advice required here please.
