I am considering purchase of an iPod to store the music that I now have on CD. My goal is to use the iPod as storage connected to my B&O stereo. My B&O rep says that the sound will be constrained by the relatively poor quality of the "digital-analog converter" (I think that is what he said) in the iPod which is not as good as that in the B&O CD player. Has anyone dealt with this issue? Is there a way of modifying (doubtful) an iPod to improve the quality of its output? Is there a better quality mp3 player that would minimize this problem?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi
I'm trying to get my mac OSX 10.6.2 to use a quality audio feed via line in when using a camcorder for direct recording into imovie.

The firewire connection insists on sending the low quality auto level sound from the camera. Is there any way I can force the mac to use the line in socket for audio.

Cheers

The title probably isn't of much help, primarily because I don't know what my problem should be called, so, sorry about that. I've been battling this problem for MONTHS now, searching high and low on the internet for solutions, and I was hoping someone else might be able to tell me something of use (or, at least tell me that I should give up hope, once and for all).

I want to burn some episodes of the anime series Gintama to DVD. I really can't stand the difference in quality between AVIs and MP4s, and AVIs are much easier to find of the show. I have absolutely no problems with iDVD itself in this situation -- the discs burn perfectly. The only problem is, upon putting them into SOME TVs, the subtitles, which are added to the video itself when people translate them through, get cut off by most TV screens. My newer TV has options that eliminate this problem, but the other TVs at my house and at my friends' houses don't have such a luxury, and there's no way to get the entire image to fit on the screen.

The solution I came up with was to make the DVDs widescreen through a very long and irritating, foolproof process, but even that only works on one of the other TVs, and the widescreen really reduces the quality of the images. Plus, there's one TV still insists on cutting off the subtitles, so there's no guarrantee that it'll work on other TVs elsewhere, either. When researching this, I found out that the problem could lie with the 'overlay' of the Television itself. What irritates me that other shows that I've burned to disc, with AVIs, no less, work perfectly fine on ALL TVs, including the insistently uncooperative one I own. Should I give up, and just go to the terrible quality of the MP4s, even though the episodes are so ridiculously hard to find? Is there another way to keep the AVIs in their fullscreen, 4:3 beauty, still using iDVD, without buying Toast, or something expensive like that?

HELP ME, PLEASE.

Thank you in advance.

I am a new user to iMAC, with Mac OS version 10.6.1, 3.06 GHz, 4GB ram, 1TB.
iDVD slidshow output is degraded. Poor quality.
I want to create DVD's with slide show output quality as good as my iPhoto input quality.
I've done the iDVD setups like professional quality, frame rate, aspect ratio, etc.
I hope I have missed something. iDVD should do this for me!
As a last resort, is there an app other than iDVD that will create professional quality DVD's?
Final Cut Studio is not an option. Way too expensive, $1000.00.
